Campus: Norfolk, NE
General Overview:
The primary objective of this role is to facilitate the setup of meeting and conference spaces and serve as the main on-site liaison for clients during events held on campus.
This position is responsible for ensuring that all furniture and equipment are arranged correctly for events and providing initial troubleshooting for multimedia and audio equipment.
Additionally, this role will deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external users of campus facilities and assist in the communication and coordination of events with various stakeholders.
The Event Coordination Specialist will also aid in scheduling and inputting events into the campus event management system. Reporting to the Associate Director of Facility Reservation and Events, this position requires collaboration with other campus departments, faculty, and staff.
Moreover, this role encompasses additional responsibilities as necessary to maintain optimal efficiency and resource utilization within the Physical Plant.
Flexibility to work during off-hours for increased workloads, emergencies, and snow removal is essential. Some evening and weekend shifts may be required. Building and maintaining positive relationships with the campus community and the public is crucial.
Qualifications:
Education:
Associate degree is required.
Experience:
One to three years of experience in event management or database administration is preferred.
Skills:
This role necessitates effective communication with colleagues from various departments, primarily non-department heads, as well as students, vendors, and the general public. Resourcefulness is essential for navigating departmental procedures and operational needs. Tact and discretion are critical when handling confidential information.
