Summary/Primary Purpose

Plans, implements, supervises members, and evaluates activities provided within a specific program area, supporting the Boys Girls Club priority outcome areas of Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, Good Character, and Citizenship. Builds and maintains a professional relationship with all Club members and their families in order to help advance the mission of The Salvation Army.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Creates an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes.
  • Promotes and stimulates program participation and assists with registration of new members and participates in their club orientation process.
  • Provides guidance and role modeling to members.
  • Implements and administers programs, services, and activities for Club members in an effective manner.
  • May oversee special programs and services such as Youth of the Year programs or Youth of the Month.
  • Monitors and evaluates programs, services, and activities to ensure safety of members, quality in programs, and appearance of the branch always.
  • Prepares periodic activity reports as directed.
  • Assists with implementation of outreach efforts to sustain and increase program membership and program participation.
  • Assists in maintaining facility and equipment in good working order as well as ensuring all storage areas are kept orderly and clean.
  • As needed, reports all repairs, maintenance, and janitorial needs to supervisor.
  • This position may participate in special programs and/or events as directed.
  • May be required to drive Club vehicle.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Youth Development Professionals.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or GED required. Previous work in related field with Children and Youth preferred.

Qualifications
  • Ability to be flexible and able to work on multiple projects or tasks simultaneously.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft software to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access. As well as the ability to access payroll, timekeeping, and personal data via a web-based system.
  • Administrative skills to include utilization of standard office equipment, data entry, 10-key, good attention to details, and filing.
  • Good communication skills both written and spoken, and ability to maintain effective working relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential matters.
Other Qualifications
  • Must pass all applicable background checks. Must possess a valid driver's license from the state in which you reside. Must be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive either a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business.
  • Must successfully complete Safe from Harm training within 90 days of hire, as established by The Salvation Army.
  • A commitment to actively participate in a Professional Development Plan including Level II Level III Training which includes completion of 20 Credit Hours of Boys Girls Club of America Spillett Training.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Basic First Aid and CPR Certification (or ability to obtain within established timeframe) and Tier 2 Boys and Girls Club of America Trainer Certification or ability to obtain.
