Job Summary

The Ponca Tribe of Nebraska is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervisory Dentist to join our team. As a key member of our dental services department, you will be responsible for providing primary dental care services to our patients, including emergency services, preventative measures, and restorative treatments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality dental care to patients, including emergency services, preventative measures, and restorative treatments.
  • Supervise and manage dental support staff, including staff dentists, hygienists, and assistants.
  • Participate in the hiring and training of new staff members.
  • Develop and implement oral health care plans and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Dental Officer and Deputy Dental Chief to coordinate dental health planning, scheduling, and staff management.

Requirements:

  • License to practice dentistry in any state or U.S. territory with no restrictions.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Computer proficiency with dental software experience.
  • Valid driver's license and be insurable.
  • Successfully pass drug and alcohol testing, motor vehicle, education, character, and criminal background checks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One to two years of experience working with Native Americans or Native American organizations.
  • Dental faculty or teaching experience beneficial for mentoring in the clinic.
  • One or more years of experience as a Dentist in the state of Nebraska or a reciprocal state/territory.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Public Law 93-638: Indian Self Determination Act.
