Senior Lead Accountant

The Lead Accountant will be responsible for managing and overseeing the financial operations related to HUD (Housing and Urban Development) in the healthcare sector. This role requires a detailed-oriented and analytical professional with a deep understanding of HUD regulations and healthcare accounting practices.
Key Responsibilities- Financial Reporting and Analysis: Assist with the preparation and review of financial statements, ensuring compliance with HUD and healthcare regulations. Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings. Analyze financial data and provide insights to senior management.
- HUD Compliance: Ensure all financial activities are in compliance with HUD requirements. Prepare and submit HUD-related financial reports and documentation. Coordinate and manage HUD audits, providing necessary documentation and responses.
- General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts. Prepare journal entries and adjustments as needed. Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets. Develop financial forecasts and models to support strategic planning.
- Internal Controls: Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accurate financial reporting. Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes.
- CPA Responsibilities: Utilize CPA knowledge to provide expert advice on accounting practices and regulations. Ensure compliance with GAAP and other accounting standards.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial information. Communicate financial results and insights to management and stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with a focus on healthcare and HUD compliance.
- Strong knowledge of HUD regulations and healthcare accounting practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with financial audits and compliance reporting.
