About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our Finance team at Short Elliott Hendrickson, Inc. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining and reporting on fixed assets and leases, creating and uploading related journal entries, reconciling accounts monthly, and developing process improvements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for overall maintenance and reporting of fixed assets and leases.
  • Create and upload related journal entries.
  • Reconcile accounts monthly.
  • Develop process improvements.
  • Research and develop options for tracking asset locations and usage.
  • Implement agreed upon solutions.
  • Maintain the process and propose adjustments as necessary.
  • Prepare and file Personal Property Tax reports.
  • Ensure payments are made.
  • Improve tracking and related processes.
  • Review each week's check run prior to payment to ensure accuracy and compliance with protocols.
  • Suggest process improvements.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
  • Maintain sales & use tax schedules.
  • Work with fellow team members to resolve any issues that are discovered, and track until completion.
  • Various journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Participate in annual external financial statement audit and other audits.
Requirements
  • Bachelors Degree in Finance and/or Accounting.
  • Previous experience preparing account reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Previous experience assisting with Audits.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5 years of previous accounting experience.
  • Knowledge of working at a company that has multiple subcompanies.
  • Working with Loans/Leases.
  • Experience with the following software's: AEC260, Quickbooks, LeaseQuery.
  • Past experience going through an ERP implementation/transition.
