About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our Finance team at Short Elliott Hendrickson, Inc. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining and reporting fixed assets and leases, creating and uploading related journal entries, reconciling accounts monthly, and developing process improvements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and report fixed assets and leases, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
  • Create and upload related journal entries, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Reconcile accounts monthly, identifying and resolving any discrepancies or issues.
  • Develop and implement process improvements, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Research and develop options for tracking asset locations and usage, implementing agreed-upon solutions and maintaining the process.
  • Prepare and file Personal Property Tax reports, ensuring timely payments and compliance.
  • Review weekly check runs prior to payment, ensuring accuracy and compliance with protocols.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations, identifying and resolving any discrepancies or issues.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Work with fellow team members to resolve any issues, tracking progress until completion.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance and/or Accounting.
  • Previous experience preparing account reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Previous experience assisting with audits.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5 years of previous accounting experience.
  • Knowledge of working at a company with multiple subcompanies.
  • Working with loans and leases.
  • Experience with software such as AEC260, Quickbooks, and LeaseQuery.
  • Past experience going through an ERP implementation/transition.

Base compensation is expected to be in the range of $85,000 and $95,000 based on skill set and experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including career development opportunities, work-life balance, and a supportive team environment.
