Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and industry-specific regulations.
  • Accounting Operations: Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage cash flow, including accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
  • Project Cost Management: Collaborate with project managers and other departments to ensure accurate tracking of costs and revenues for each project.
  • Internal Controls: Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial policies.
  • Financial Planning and Analysis: Provide financial analysis and reports to support strategic decision-making, including project profitability, cost management, and financial forecasting.
  • Leadership and Mentorship: Lead and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and support to ensure the team's success.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of construction accounting practices, including job costing, WIP (Work in Progress) accounting, and revenue recognition. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage 300) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Personal Qualities: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
