Role Summary:

Harvard Square by Cogir is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Community Engagement Specialist with a background in relationship-based sales and a genuine passion for supporting seniors and their families. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals who are organized and detail-oriented, coming from diverse backgrounds such as retirement living, hospitality, real estate, or social services.

As a Community Engagement Specialist (also known as Move-In Coordinator), your primary responsibility will be to facilitate a seamless transition for new residents into our community. You will possess a comprehensive understanding of our offerings to effectively communicate with potential residents and their families, ensuring a positive and enjoyable move-in experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Community Relations Director in executing strategies to attract leads, manage inquiries, and enhance community occupancy.
  • Evaluate potential residents, convert inquiries into tours, and secure deposits through effective sales techniques.
  • Manage all incoming inquiries via phone, in-person visits, and mail, ensuring accurate documentation in our sales and marketing database.
  • Conduct community tours and provide relevant marketing materials to prospective residents and their families.
  • Assist in generating regular and special sales and marketing reports as needed.
  • Follow up with all interested parties, including potential residents and referral sources.
  • Help prepare necessary documentation for successful resident transitions.
  • Support residents and their families in adjusting to community life during and after the move-in process.
  • Maintain accurate records in the community's Customer Relationship Management software (Yardi).
  • Foster strong relationships between residents, staff, and department heads to ensure high levels of resident satisfaction.
  • Understand community care regulations to provide appropriate guidance to prospects.
  • Assist in organizing and executing special events.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred experience of at least 1 year in senior living, hospitality, or healthcare sales and marketing.
  • A collaborative mindset and a commitment to serving seniors.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, with flexibility to work evenings or weekends as necessary.
  • Proven track record of meeting sales objectives.
  • Proficiency in various computer applications, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience in Assisted Living (AL), Independent Living (IL), or Hospitality is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Yardi or similar CRM systems is preferred.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; an Associate Degree or higher is preferred.
