About the RoleOgilvy is seeking a highly driven and organized Account Executive with a passion for community engagement and/or risk communications. This role will primarily support our continued work with FEMA on the Community Engagement and Risk Communication (CERC) contract.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with a federal agency and a large, dynamic team of experts in behavior change, disaster resilience, risk communications, emergency management, community outreach, partnership building, community planning, and engineering.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with colleagues in Washington, D.C., and 10 regional offices nationwide to accomplish significant results in the areas of raising understanding of local vulnerabilities and driving action to strengthen communities.
Key Responsibilities- Work integrally with internal team members to develop and deliver high-quality work
- Support the management and execution of community engagement projects, including coordination of content, location, attendees, and format in consultation with local jurisdictions, states, and federal agencies
- Develop and coordinate localized strategic communication plans and content related to community resilience for local, state, and tribal governments
- Perform research and analysis to inform community engagement strategies
- Support the development and management of partnerships with local influencers, consumer, nonprofit, and business organizations, and professional organizations
- Assist in the preparation of written materials, including community profiles, engagement reports, communications plans, partnership agreements, locally tailored outreach tools, and reports
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to identify opportunities for more creative and comprehensive outreach and communication materials
- Collaborate with the internal project team to develop staffing and scoping requirements for projects
- 1+ year of related industry experience managing the delivery of high-quality work
- Knowledge of or interest in climate change resilience and/or hazard mitigation at the local, state, or federal level
- Familiarity with or interest in equity-centered approaches to community engagement and program delivery
- Ability to think strategically about issues and message development
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to perform research and analysis
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Dependable and collaborative team member, willing to take on new challenges
