Key Responsibilities:
  • Client Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in client accounts, as well as Partners and other relevant stakeholders, through active participation in client meetings, briefings, workshops, and Q&A sessions.
  • Immigration Strategies: Develop and present well-structured and concise arguments to formulate immigration strategies for complex matters.
  • Counsel and Consultation: Engage with clients at middle and senior management levels, offering counsel and consultation as necessary.
  • Business Advisory: Serve as a business advisor, demonstrating a comprehensive working knowledge of immigration law and a keen grasp of the client, the industry, and associated risks.
  • Expertise and Application: Acquire in-depth expertise in sector-specific issues and effectively apply this knowledge to address and resolve client scenarios.
  • File Maintenance and Record Keeping: Ensure self and team follow firm protocols with respect to file maintenance, record keeping, and use of firm's systems, including data quality in Connect and other firm technology.
  • Research and Solutions: Research complex technical immigration issues and formulate solutions, including completion of appropriate documentation.
  • Case Preparation and Filing: Independently execute case preparation and filing and develop strategies for complex matters.
  • Revenue Opportunities: Identify and capitalize on revenue opportunities by exploring new business initiatives and recognizing potential growth avenues within the team's existing client base.
  • Team Supervision and Development: Directly or indirectly supervise Associates and other staff, providing mentoring, coaching, and performance management.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead the continuous improvement process, including seeking out and implementing opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and standardization of processes, products, or services.
  • Support and Collaboration: Support Partners/senior team members on client proposals and pitches, practice area business plans, and leading or taking part in RFPs where appropriate.
  • Marketing and Business Development: Proactively identify and take part in marketing and business development opportunities.
  • Culture and Compliance: Foster a culture of collaboration across teams locally, regionally, and firmwide, and ensure self and team follow documented firm standards and policy to mitigate risk and ensure regulatory, operational, and client compliance.
Requirements:
  • Education: U.S. JD or LLM required.
  • Bar Membership: Member of a US State bar or Washington DC bar association.
  • Experience: 5-7 years of experience at Associate level.
  • Skills and Qualifications: Strong experience handling NIV and PERM cases, ability to handle a high volume client within financial or professional services, comprehensive knowledge and understanding of immigration law, prior team management experience strongly preferred, excellent written and verbal communication skills, dedication to exceptional client service, demonstrated attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with competing demands, and ability to contribute to a positive work environment.
