Salary: $100,000 - $130,000 Base (Dependent on Experience)

Bonneville Labs is seeking a Site Supervisor & Cross-Site Operations Manager. This role is an exempt position that will report directly to the Head of Lab Operations. The selected candidate will have the option to work from either our Hayward or Berkeley facility. This individual will oversee site operations, provide backup support for the Head of Operations, and assist with a diverse range of projects. The role requires both independent work and collaboration with other members of the Bonneville Lab Operations team to establish processes that equip member companies with essential services, supplies, and equipment for their research endeavors. Responsibilities will also include monitoring and partially managing existing processes while proposing enhancements.

Key Responsibilities:

Site Leadership (~60%)

  • Facilitate daily team meetings with site personnel to ensure ongoing collaboration on site-specific requirements.
  • Conduct weekly meetings for all site supervisors and provide a summary report to the Site Operations Manager.
  • Assist in the onboarding of operational staff by developing training materials and updating the Internal Knowledge Base with relevant lab operations information.
  • Identify and establish process standards as needed, conducting monthly reviews to ensure compliance and suggesting improvements across all sites.
  • Ensure adherence to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Perform regular health checks on the monitoring system, including necessary updates and maintenance.
  • Manage site space management software by keeping records updated regarding equipment and memberships.
  • Oversee property management interactions, addressing any issues and conducting monthly facility inspections.
  • Review and approve requests for insurance certification.
  • Assist in member management by providing lab and non-lab services and status updates to clients.
  • Coordinate with vendors to maintain a timely servicing schedule for equipment.
  • Conduct site inspections to support audits and ensure compliance with CAPA & EH&S standards.
  • Organize daily tasks to ensure priorities are met and staff are prepared.
  • Review and approve invoices, ensuring accuracy in service quotes.

Cross-Site Operations Management (~40%)

  • Oversee company-wide ticketing systems to ensure efficient service delivery and resource allocation.
  • Monitor and report on ticketing system performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure all customer requests and contractual obligations are integrated into the ticketing system.
  • Update project planning systems as the primary operations contact.
  • Support the Cross-Site Operations Manager in scheduling and process management.
  • Conduct quarterly evaluations of site processes and provide constructive feedback to Site Supervisors.
  • Coordinate lab operations activities across multiple sites in collaboration with the Operations Leadership Team.
  • Lead discussions in weekly Operations Team Meetings.
  • Conduct inspections of non-main sites to ensure compliance with operating procedures.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have a proven history in managing laboratory operations, fostering a collaborative environment, and addressing the unique challenges of a small biotech organization. Experience with minor equipment repairs and maintenance on standard lab equipment is preferred. A background in customer service and the ability to manage and delegate tasks effectively are essential.

  • Experience in a start-up or small laboratory environment.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a laboratory setting.
  • Experience in a leadership or management role.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in computer applications.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Able to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • EH&S, Haz Mat, and Bloodborne pathogen training is highly desirable.
  • Experience with EH&S inspections is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences or a related field preferred.

Work Environment

  • Location: This position requires in-person attendance at either the Hayward or Berkeley office.
  • Compensation: The stated salary range is fixed for this and all roles within Bonneville Labs. Total Compensation will be determined based on experience and may include a performance-based bonus structure.
  • Commute: Travel to and from the designated base of operations is part of the role and is not reimbursed.
  • Travel: Occasional travel to other Bonneville Labs and member sites within the Bay Area is required. Additional travel beyond the normal commute will be reimbursed in accordance with company policy and California law.
