Position Title: Lead Clinical Laboratory Scientist in Hematology

Overview:
We are excited to present an opportunity to join Sutter Health as a Lead Clinical Laboratory Scientist specializing in Hematology. This role is pivotal in overseeing the daily functions of hematology, urinalysis, and coagulation departments, ensuring operational excellence and compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily operations of the hematology, urinalysis, and coagulation labs, including equipment oversight and record reviews.
  • Lead the validation, development, and implementation of new procedures, policies, and software updates.
  • Train and assess the competency of laboratory personnel, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular quality assurance and quality control assessments, including monthly and annual reports.
  • Provide guidance to staff, ensuring efficient instrument maintenance and adherence to quality control protocols.

Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with relevant training or equivalent experience meeting state requirements.

Licensure:
Current CLSL-Licensed Clinical Lab Scientist certification.

Preferred Experience:
At least 5 years of experience as a licensed Clinical Laboratory Scientist Generalist.

Skills and Knowledge:
  • Comprehensive understanding of CAP requirements and laboratory operations.
  • Proficient in quality control and quality assurance protocols specific to hematology, urinalysis, and coagulation.
  • Strong leadership abilities to plan, coordinate, and evaluate laboratory operations.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of preparing reports and presenting information effectively.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve laboratory performance issues.
  • Proficient in laboratory information systems and basic computer applications.

Work Schedule:
This is a full-time position with variable weekend requirements, including every other weekend.
