Key Responsibilities

As a laboratory specialist, you will collaborate with skilled scientists and research associates. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Executing daily laboratory operations and preparing necessary materials for the assay development team.
  • Processing microfluidic chips in accordance with detailed protocols.
  • Preparing reagents for use by the team.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Associate's degree, completion of a certificate program, or equivalent training.
  • Experience or eagerness to learn hands-on laboratory techniques related to manufacturing, bio-assays, biochemistry, and microfluidics.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex instructions.
  • Understanding of fundamental scientific principles and experimental controls.
  • Capability to perform basic calculations for solution preparation.
  • Adherence to safety protocols and procedures, with the ability to handle sensitive materials (safety training will be provided).
  • Willingness to learn and operate prototype-level liquid handling automation systems.
  • Ability to work in a BSL2 laboratory environment.
  • Effective communication and documentation skills.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Flexibility to work during off-hours, including weekends and evenings.

Preferred Experience:

  • Familiarity with pipetting techniques.
  • Experience with biochemistry laboratory protocols.
  • Knowledge of chemical reagents and solution preparation (e.g., buffers, detergents).
  • Analytical skills, particularly in data analysis using Excel.
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Experience in maintaining a laboratory notebook.
  • Enrollment in or completion of a bioscience or chemistry-related degree or certificate program.
