We design standardized infrastructure that enables software developers to operate swiftly while still offering the flexibility necessary for innovation within their teams.
As a Lead Technical Program Manager at ZipRecruiter, you will spearhead cross-functional initiatives, utilizing strong leadership, planning, communication, and collaboration skills. Our TPMs are technically adept, with backgrounds in software engineering or systems engineering.They are adept problem solvers who catalyze progress by establishing clear objectives and motivating teams to deliver significant initiatives, such as enhancing cloud expenditure efficiency, modernizing our computing infrastructure, or refining our incident response protocols.
We are looking for a seasoned Lead Technical Program Manager who is passionate about developer experience and productivity, combined with a data-driven mindset.
Your primary mission will be to streamline and expedite the software development experience through close collaboration across our Infrastructure and Engineering teams.
Your initial project will involve leading our revitalized "Boost Developer Productivity" initiative, aimed at increasing the volume and speed of developer iterations while minimizing iteration overhead and empowering our Engineering teams to identify code health and productivity enhancements.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Infrastructure leadership to articulate ZipRecruiter's developer productivity narrative through both quantitative and qualitative approaches using available metrics.
Maintain developer productivity metrics and dashboards, alongside ongoing in-depth analysis and reporting of actionable insights to drive improvements.
Enhance Infrastructure's customer engagement and communication strategies.
Oversee the iterative delivery of strategic cross-functional initiatives from conception to completion, ensuring focus, transparency, communication, visibility, and accountability.
Establish strong relationships across engineering teams, creating feedback mechanisms to identify customer pain points.
Utilize extensive technical expertise with large-scale, distributed 24x7 production systems to develop comprehensive plans, identify risks, and ensure seamless project launches aimed at exceeding customer expectations.
Required Experience:
3+ years of relevant experience in Technical Program Management and Engineering or Product Management.
Proficient in Data Analysis, including SQL, capable of crafting efficient queries on large datasets and deriving actionable insights.
Experience leading cross-functional teams to deliver complex projects iteratively, managing multiple dependencies and constraints in a dynamic, agile environment.
Proven ability to operate effectively and independently across various teams in situations of high ambiguity, with only high-level guidance.
Experience in building roadmaps, release plans, and project plans with a comprehensive understanding of dependency management.
Able to communicate complex technical issues and solutions at all levels, from engineers to executives.
Skilled in influencing, negotiating, and inspiring others in a matrixed environment, with excellent organizational and planning abilities.
Experience in compiling and presenting business and technology options, supported by data and experimentation, to decision-makers.
At least two years of experience in software engineering, data engineering/science, or systems engineering.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with DORA, SPACE, or other Developer Productivity measurement frameworks.
