Strategic Account Executive (Food Broker)

Location: Remote

Affinity Group is on the lookout for a results-oriented, business development expert to join our team as a Strategic Account Executive. This role is pivotal in driving growth within our Kentucky market and is ideal for a dedicated professional with an entrepreneurial mindset. You will report directly to the Market Sales Manager.

Ideal Candidate:

The successful applicant will be passionate about business development and will actively contribute to sales growth for all designated clients. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, prospecting, lead generation, managing the sales pipeline, and influencing key decision-makers in the restaurant industry, including owners, operators, general managers, and culinary professionals. A creative approach and a love for food are essential.

Your Responsibilities:

A typical week may involve:

  • Strategic Planning and Implementation: You will consistently identify and execute event/activity plans for your assigned accounts, enhancing awareness of our client's unique value proposition while presenting features and benefits of the products we represent to stimulate inquiries. Your ability to forge impactful partnerships will be crucial as you engage in daily activities through virtual presentations, calls, and emails.
  • Consultative Partner: Utilizing various communication channels, you will leverage your passion for service to deliver exceptional sales presentations with a consultative approach for prospective foodservice restaurant owners, operators, general managers, and culinary experts.
  • Drive and Determination: This position allows for a local office base with the flexibility to work remotely as needed. Working autonomously, you will apply your critical thinking skills to assist potential Affinity Group clients throughout the sales cycle, utilizing our CRM system, ensuring data integrity, and guiding prospects toward a successful purchasing journey.

This role may be a fit for you if you possess:

  • 3-5 years of experience in foodservice sales or operations: Background in restaurant operations or culinary arts is advantageous.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to engage professionally at all levels, with strong listening and relationship-building capabilities.
  • Passion for Culinary Arts: An enthusiasm for food and the myriad ways products can be utilized in preparation.
  • Creative Thinking: Capability to develop and suggest food menu combinations that support the sales process.
  • Self-Motivation: A proactive approach and ownership of client relationships are essential.
  • Effective Time Management: Ability to juggle competing priorities while traveling to various locations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience with CRM systems.

What to Anticipate:

  • Standard work week: Monday through Friday.
  • During peak food trade show seasons, the role may require extended periods of standing and the ability to lift case goods (up to 50 lbs.).
  • Travel Requirements: Daily travel to assigned locations is necessary. Candidates must possess a valid Driver's License and maintain a clean driving record.
