Position Overview

The Senior Vice President of Construction and Operations will play a pivotal role in steering one of the leading construction firms. This executive-level position will work closely with the President to shape the future of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership:

  • Collaborate with the executive team to formulate and implement the strategic vision of the company, emphasizing growth and operational efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements to optimize construction operations and minimize costs.
  • Engage in business development initiatives by representing the company in client interactions and negotiations.

Operational Oversight:

  • Manage all facets of construction operations, including project management, field execution, safety protocols, quality assurance, and scheduling.
  • Guide and nurture a team of construction professionals, including project managers and superintendents.
  • Promote a culture centered on safety, quality, and continuous improvement across all teams.

Financial Stewardship:

  • Oversee construction budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with finance teams to ensure timely and accurate financial oversight of projects.
  • Seek avenues to enhance profitability through effective cost management and resource allocation.

Project Management:

  • Ensure timely delivery of projects within defined scope and budget.
  • Monitor project performance and implement necessary corrective measures to address challenges.
  • Conduct site evaluations to ensure adherence to company standards and regulatory compliance.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Develop and maintain robust relationships with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Address and resolve client inquiries and concerns regarding project execution.
  • Keep all stakeholders informed about project developments and any adjustments to scope or timelines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline; advanced degree is a plus.
  • A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in construction management, with significant experience in senior leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated success in managing large-scale construction initiatives.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinker with a focus on operational execution.
  • Proficient in construction management software and relevant technologies.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and client satisfaction.
