Position Overview

We are seeking a qualified and motivated individual to join our team as a Commercial Lender. This role is pivotal in developing and managing commercial loan accounts that align with established lending criteria, maximizing profitability while minimizing risk.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct interviews with loan applicants, gathering and analyzing financial data to assess creditworthiness and the viability of loan requests.
  • Negotiate terms of credit extension, including costs, repayment schedules, and collateral requirements.
  • Approve loans in accordance with CNB Loan Policy and act as a liaison for loans exceeding set limits.
  • Ensure that all loans are structured to be profitable and beneficial for both the bank and the clients.
  • Monitor loan repayment activities, taking necessary actions to address overdue accounts.
  • Provide guidance to clients on business management and financial matters.
  • Engage in business development by reaching out to potential clients and promoting additional bank services.
  • Participate in various committees related to loan management and marketing initiatives.
  • Prepare and present loan proposals to the Loan Committee and Board as required.
  • Engage with community organizations to enhance the bank's visibility and foster new business opportunities.
  • Serve as a contact for non-borrowing accounts and provide assistance regarding other bank services.
  • Support the training and development of commercial credit analysts as needed.
  • Oversee the closing of loans and ensure proper documentation is maintained.
  • Stay informed about economic and legislative developments that may impact lending activities.
  • Implement new procedures to improve efficiency in departmental operations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client information and uphold regulatory compliance.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business or Finance is preferred, or a combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Three to five years of experience in commercial lending or credit analysis.
  • Knowledge of lending laws, regulations, and documentation requirements.
  • A strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong administrative capabilities and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Work Environment

This position typically operates in an office environment with occasional travel to client locations as needed. Candidates should be prepared to communicate effectively and manage sensitive information responsibly.
