Overview

Objective of the Commercial Lines Marketing Specialist

The primary goal is to collaborate with Managing Partners (MP), Associate Managing Agents (AMA), and designated Multi-line Farm Bureau agents in the sales territory to develop and implement a proactive sales strategy aimed at enhancing the company's market presence in commercial insurance within the region. This role involves direct engagement with Farm Bureau agents and solicitors to secure and maintain profitable commercial accounts. The specialist will serve as a representative for Farm Bureau's commercial insurance products for the assigned agents, ensuring that these offerings are effectively positioned in the marketplace.



Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities of the Commercial Lines Marketing Specialist

Engage in a variety of functional activities designed to boost production and service efficiency for agents operating in the commercial property/casualty markets, while also encouraging more agents to participate in these markets.

Provide direct sales support to agents in the region through prospecting, analytical recommendations, proposal preparation, joint sales calls, and the closing and installation of accounts.

Encourage commercial property/casualty sales in the region by leading and participating in partnership meetings.

Collaborate with the Commercial Sales Support and Service Center teams to manage ongoing service requirements for commercial accounts in conjunction with agents and their teams.

Partner with agents in the designated region to enhance their commercial production and understanding of Farm Bureau's offerings, market focus, and competitive positioning in the commercial insurance sector.

Work alongside regional MPs and AMAs to set and achieve growth, profitability, risk management, and retention objectives for the assigned area.

Assist agents in the region with accounts needing specialized or technical support, including underwriting, insurance coverage programming, and competitive analysis.

Educate agents not assigned to a Commercial Marketing Partner on technical information and sales techniques relevant to the commercial property/casualty markets, providing guidance on best practices to build their confidence in commercial product placement.

Collaborate with the assigned Commercial Marketing Partner to organize seminars and workshops, both virtually and in-person, at the partnership level. Prepare and deliver presentations at training sessions and regional meetings.

Guide assigned agents annually on commercial growth strategies that align with regional and company-wide performance objectives.

Stay updated on technical knowledge by engaging in advanced educational programs and reviewing current publications to remain informed about developments in commercial sales.

Work with internal business areas (underwriting/products & forms/risk management/claims) to identify opportunities, share competitive insights, and advocate for agents and clients.

Establish and nurture relationships with Farm Bureau Partners Group, becoming proficient in their systems and processes. Assist assigned agents in placing commercial business effectively.

Support the Community Service Acceptance Company (CSAC) FB Partners Group in identifying new markets, products, and services to enhance the Farm Bureau Insurance portfolio and drive future sales growth.



Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or finance is required. Equivalent experience may be considered.

A minimum of five years of experience in commercial sales or underwriting with comprehensive knowledge of commercial or farm lines in the small to middle market is required.

Experience in the commercial or farm insurance marketplace is essential.

Preferred Qualifications

A valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record is required. CIC designation is preferred.

Note: This position primarily operates remotely.
