Overview

Objective

The primary goal of the Commercial Insurance Sales Training Specialist is to educate, mentor, and enhance the skills of selected Farm Bureau Insurance agents during their designated training phase. This role focuses on providing comprehensive training across all coverage options and transactions related to commercial insurance lines managed by Farm Bureau Insurance or its partners. The aim is to ensure that the agents are well-prepared to enter the Commercial Marketing Partner (CMP) training program and to equip them with the necessary skills to deliver effective commercial risk management solutions to Farm Bureau members.



Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

1. Implement a diverse range of activities designed to boost the productivity and service capabilities of agents operating within the commercial property and casualty sectors.

2. Provide training and support to the agency force, particularly focusing on new agencies and their personnel throughout their initial three years of operation, covering all aspects from client acquisition to policy renewal.

3. Organize and conduct seminars and workshops at the partnership level, deliver presentations at agency meetings, contribute articles for partnership and company publications, and assist in the development of training programs and materials.

4. Offer direct sales support to agents by aiding in prospecting, analyzing facts, preparing proposals, participating in joint sales calls, and facilitating the closing and implementation of cases.



Qualifications

Required Qualifications

- A Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, insurance, or finance, or equivalent professional experience.

- A minimum of five years of experience in commercial sales or underwriting, with a strong understanding of commercial or farm lines in the small to middle market.

- Proven experience in the commercial or farm insurance industry.

- Demonstrated ability to conduct training in both individual and group settings.

- A valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.

- Strong relationship-building skills.

- Capability to identify challenges faced by agencies and provide educational and practical solutions.

- Relevant designations such as CIC or CPCU are required or should be actively pursued.

Note: This position primarily involves remote work covering specific counties in Michigan.
