Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Certified Law Enforcement Officer to join our team at the City of Hobbs, NM. As a Police Patrol Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining law and order, protecting the community, and upholding the highest standards of professionalism.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol and Respond: Conduct regular patrols of the city, respond to emergency calls, and provide assistance to citizens in need.
  • Enforce Laws and Regulations: Enforce laws and regulations, issue citations, and make arrests as necessary.
  • Investigate Incidents: Conduct thorough investigations of incidents, gather evidence, and interview witnesses.
  • Provide Community Service: Engage with the community, provide education and outreach, and build relationships with local businesses and residents.
  • Collaborate with Other Agencies: Work closely with other law enforcement agencies, emergency services, and community organizations to ensure a safe and secure environment.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required; two-year community college degree or vocational school training in police science, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.
  • Knowledge and Skills: General knowledge of modern law enforcement principles, procedures, techniques, and equipment; ability to learn applicable laws, ordinances, and department rules and regulations.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to perform heavy physical activity, including running, lifting, and climbing; ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make quick decisions.
  • Work Environment: Work in a variety of environments, including outdoors, in vehicles, and in emergency situations; exposure to hazardous materials, loud noises, and extreme temperatures.
