Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Law Enforcement Officer to join our team at the City of Hobbs, NM. As a Police Patrol Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining law and order, protecting the community, and upholding the highest standards of professionalism.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol and Respond: Conduct regular patrols of the city, respond to emergency calls, and provide assistance to citizens in need.
  • Investigate and Enforce: Investigate crimes, gather evidence, and enforce laws and regulations to ensure public safety.
  • Community Engagement: Build relationships with the community, provide education and outreach, and promote crime prevention initiatives.
  • Collaborate and Communicate: Work closely with other law enforcement agencies, share information, and provide updates to the public and stakeholders.
  • Maintain Equipment and Vehicles: Ensure that all equipment and vehicles are in good working condition, and perform routine maintenance tasks.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required; two-year community college degree or vocational school training in police science, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.
  • Knowledge and Skills: General knowledge of modern law enforcement principles, procedures, techniques, and equipment; ability to learn applicable laws, ordinances, and department rules and regulations.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to perform heavy physical activity, including running, lifting, and climbing; ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make quick decisions.
  • Work Environment: Work in a variety of settings, including outdoors in all weather conditions; exposure to hazardous materials, loud noises, and stressful situations.
