We are looking for an experienced Banquet Event Coordinator to join our team at Park Lane New York, situated on Billionaires' Row in the heart of Manhattan. As a member of our events team, you will be responsible for ensuring the success of all banquet events while maintaining a profitable operation and high quality products and service levels.

Job Summary

The Banquet Event Coordinator will oversee all aspects of the daily operation of the hotel's banquet operation, including supervising banquet personnel, responding to guest complaints, and working with other F&B managers to keep them informed of F&B issues as they arise. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of service standards, different service types, and food and beverage preparation techniques.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of the daily operation of the hotel's banquet operation.
  • Supervise banquet personnel and ensure that they are providing exceptional customer service.
  • Respond to guest complaints in a timely manner and resolve issues promptly.
  • Work with other F&B managers to keep them informed of F&B issues as they arise.
  • Monitor quality of service in banquet operations and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with all local liquor laws, health and sanitation regulations, and SOPs.
  • Conduct staff performance reviews in accordance with Highgate Hotel standards.
  • Participate in M.O.D. coverage as required and maintain regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing nametags.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of progressive experience in a hotel or a related field.
  • High school diploma required. Previous supervisory responsibility preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of service standards, different service types, and food and beverage preparation techniques.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage preparation techniques, health department rules and regulations, liquor laws and regulations.
  • Long hours sometimes required.
  • Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000 annually.
