Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy County Court Clerk to join our team at Fort Bend County. As a key member of our Courts Division, you will provide professional and quality customer service, manage court documents, and perform various administrative tasks.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, analyze, and prepare court documents, including filing, recording, and issuing.
  • Prepare, file, and assign new cases based on office policy and parameters set by statute.
  • Assist the judge in the courtroom, administer oaths, and execute orders.
  • Maintain knowledge of statutes and research legal issues.
  • Audit case events, activities, and caseload by court.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of documents and data.
  • Collect fees and make change, reconcile and balance cash drawers.
  • Assist customers, provide information, and process requests in person, on the telephone, and via mail.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • One (1) year job-related customer service or clerical experience.
  • Strong computer, typing (40 wpm), and data entry skills required.
  • Good written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including diplomacy and problem-solving.
  • Ability to complete tasks while under pressure and within tight deadlines.
  • Valid Texas Driver's License.
Benefits

Fort Bend County offers a competitive salary range of $19.64 hourly, based on qualifications. All full-time and part-time employees are members of the Texas County District Retirement System (TCDRS). Full-time employees also enjoy a wide range of great benefits.
