Job Summary

W R Systems is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Field Representative to join our team. As a key member of our Navigation Systems team, you will be responsible for representing our company in the performance of Aircraft Inertial Alignment System (AIAS) repair, ILS support, and Field Change upgrades on US Navy Ships.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Repair and maintain AN/SRC-40, CV-4095, Alignment Output Boxes (AOB), antennas, and associated cables.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to lower-level technicians on Aircraft Inertial Alignment System (AIAS) and ILS support.
  • Conduct dockside and at-sea tests, analyze data, and identify and resolve installation, technical, and procedural problems.
  • Develop and update documentation and procedures for Navigation system interface issues with other shipboard systems.
  • Travel to sponsors' sites as a technical representative, conduct field tests, and serve as a liaison with industrial, governmental, and other sponsors.
  • Prepare status, progress, and final reports for projects, describing the results of field experiments and/or inspections.
  • Verify functionality of newly installed equipment and evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions.
  • Develop skills with new technology and systems relevant to on-going and anticipated projects.
  • Maintain and continuously seek improvements to test procedures and processes for maximum efficiency, safety, and quality.
  • Provide oversight and on-the-job training to lower-level technicians.
Requirements:
  • Technical training in US Navy Navigation equipment and systems.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Formal electronics training from a recognized institution or equivalent experience.
  • Four (4) years of practical experience in electronics repair, maintenance, and checkout.
  • Two (2) years of experience providing technical guidance to lower-level technicians.
  • One (1) year of practical experience in electronics installation.
  • Knowledge and experience with the installation and operation of AN/WSN-7 & 7B, CDU, VMS(ECDIS-N), EM Log, DEML, DHSYL, NAVSSI, and other related shipboard Combat Systems equipment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and coordination skills.
  • Confidence and communication skills to brief senior shipboard personnel on the status of all requirements and issues.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proven management/leadership experience in the support of testing and evaluation of navigation systems.
