Position Overview:
As a vital member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for delivering direct patient care and facilitating ongoing education while supporting care plans. This role is essential in an outpatient environment, working under the guidance of the attending physician or designated healthcare provider to enhance patient health and wellness.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive care to patients across all age groups, demonstrating an understanding of their developmental needs.
  • Assist in the collection of data regarding the physical, psychological, social, and cultural aspects of patients.
  • Organize and prioritize care activities based on patient needs and team collaboration.
  • Implement age-appropriate interventions as directed by the healthcare provider.
  • Facilitate ongoing education and reinforcement of care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Ensure a safe environment and the effective delivery of care.
  • Participate in professional development and contribute to the growth of colleagues.

Minimum Qualifications for Healthcare Support Specialist:
Education:
Completion of an accredited program for Licensed Practical Nurses or Medical Assistants.

Experience:
No prior experience required.

Licensure:
Must hold a valid license to practice as a Practical Nurse or certification as a Medical Assistant in the Commonwealth of Virginia prior to onboarding.

Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required.

Physical Requirements:
This role involves standing for extended periods, frequent mobility, and the ability to lift/push/pull 20-50 lbs. Candidates may be exposed to various health-related materials and environments.
