SUMMARY


Provide oversight and support for both external and internal audits related to safety and non-safety software initiatives, acting as a qualified auditor within the Quality Assurance Division (QAD) for independent audits or surveillances.

Assist the Office of River Protection (ORP) in managing and supervising projects in alignment with Department of Energy (DOE) Orders, Hanford procedures, and the ORP Quality Assurance Program Description concerning software.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


Deliver quality oversight functions as a lead member of the oversight team to Federal Project Directors, assisting them in addressing performance challenges and verifying the achievement of facility milestones related to software activities.

Conduct thorough reviews of Contractor actions aimed at addressing DOE Inspector General (OIG) Recommendations concerning software issues.

Perform effectiveness assessments of Contractor actions and OIG Recommendations regarding software matters.


Review and provide feedback on new and revised QAD procedures and oversight reports to ensure high technical quality.

Analyze causal factors and actions taken to prevent recurrence of software conditions that adversely affect quality.


Utilize strong writing and communication skills in all interactions.

Maintain consistent and punctual attendance.

Execute additional duties as assigned.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
None.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Technology, or Business Management.


A minimum of nine (9) years of relevant experience as a management consultant or senior manager, collaborating with organizational executives and senior management, or senior technical or business professionals within government or industry on significant management, technical, or business challenges.


Extensive experience in Safety Quality Assurance (SQA) requirements as outlined in Government Agencies Regulations and Orders, ensuring that safety and non-safety software engineering processes and methods adhere to established quality standards.

Proficient in implementing Safety and non-Safety Software QA Programs.

Demonstrated familiarity or relevant experience with Hanford or other government agency procedures.

At least ten (10) years of experience in software quality assurance program implementation and oversight.

Proven experience with software quality assurance orders, guidance, consensus standards, and common industry practices.

Must secure and maintain any necessary security access and/or background checks (U.S. citizenship required).


DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Working knowledge of Hanford Site mission, activities, and priorities.

Familiarity with DOE Hanford processes and procedures.

Understanding of DOE's program management practices, policies, and procedures.

Knowledge of Hanford's Quality Assurance programs.

American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certified Software Quality Engineer (CSQE) or equivalent certification.

Ability to learn and utilize other technology management tools employed at Hanford.

Exceptional communication responsiveness and customer service skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft 365, particularly in Word and Excel.

Strong written and oral communication abilities.


Job Requirements:

WORK SCHEDULE
Full-time position. Additional hours may be required to complete assignments or projects.

TRAVEL
Expected travel time is less than 25%.

DRIVING REQUIREMENTS


Must possess or be able to obtain a valid state driver's license and be insurable under the company's automobile insurance policy. Driving, with or without accommodation, may be necessary for training and/or occasional local travel. The anticipated driving time is less than 25%.


WORK ENVIRONMENT


Work is primarily conducted in a professional office environment, utilizing standard office equipment (e.g., computer, fax machines, copier) and interacting with a diverse range of individuals across various functions, personalities, and abilities.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS


This position involves prolonged periods of sitting, using hands/fingers, handling, reaching with hands and arms, talking, and hearing; occasional walking or standing, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and lifting boxes weighing up to 30 pounds. Moderate to extended periods of office work with significant computer usage.

Compensation & Benefits Package:

Pay:
$120,000-$150,000 /annually
