Job Overview:

Hanford Mission Integration Solutions (HMIS) is in search of a Quality Assurance Specialist who will report directly to the Contractor Assurance System (CAS) Manager. This role is pivotal in supporting the execution of the HMIS CAS program, along with providing independent oversight, audits, and assessments of the work carried out by HMIS.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and engage in assessments, which include independent audits, surveillances, and management/self-assessments through various activities:
    • Scheduling assessments.
    • Creating assessment plans and lines of inquiry.
    • Facilitating opening, in-progress, and closing meetings.
    • Conducting factual accuracy reviews and generating reports on assessment outcomes for the responsible organization/project and senior management.
    • Reviewing and following up on actions related to assessment findings.
    • Participating in cross-functional teams focused on issues management and continuous improvement initiatives, including identifying issues, screening, causal analysis, trend/data analysis, effectiveness reviews, and issue close-out.
    • Conducting management observations for activities that do not necessitate a full assessment.
    • Developing and updating Assurance Program documentation, including policies, procedures, and plans, leveraging knowledge of federal regulatory compliance.
    • Acting as a Subject Matter Expert in Assurance, providing programmatic interpretation, user support, and just-in-time training on requirements and expectations.
    • Independently reviewing company policies, plans, procedures, and other documents to ensure alignment with quality and mission performance objectives.
    • Building and maintaining relationships with HMIS personnel, designated client personnel, and other contractors within the One Hanford initiative.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Lead and participate in event notifications, investigations, and causal analyses, demonstrating knowledge of relevant methodologies and tools.
  • Develop and analyze trending and performance indicators to evaluate and monitor the overall health of the contractor assurance program.
  • Engage in the implementation of the company’s issues management system, documenting lessons learned, adverse conditions, opportunities for improvement, and strengths/good practices.
  • Develop and review deliverables related to the Assurance program and manage change initiatives.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of seven years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in contractor performance assurance, audit/quality assurance, or continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams, senior leadership, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders.
  • Exceptional skills in facilitation, leadership, communication, and emotional intelligence, with a strong ability to summarize complex topics for senior leadership.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a highly regulated environment.
  • Familiarity with DevonWay (iCAS) software products.
  • Expertise in procedure development, maintenance, and technical interpretation.
  • Knowledge of relevant assurance requirements, standards, and orders.
  • Technical proficiency in assurance processes, enabling comprehension of the application and relationships to technical, safety, and quality requirements.

Compensation:

Grade 18: $104,175 - $131,425
