POSITION SUMMARY


Provide comprehensive oversight for both external and internal audits concerning safety and non-safety software initiatives, acting as a qualified auditor within the Quality Assurance Division (QAD) for independent audits or surveillance activities.

Support the Office of River Protection (ORP) in managing and supervising projects in alignment with Department of Energy (DOE) Orders, Hanford procedures, and the ORP Quality Assurance Program Description regarding software.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


Deliver quality oversight functions as a lead member of the oversight team to Federal Project Directors, assisting in addressing performance challenges and confirming the fulfillment of facility milestones related to software operations.

Conduct thorough reviews of Contractor actions aimed at addressing DOE Inspector General (OIG) Recommendations concerning software matters.

Perform effectiveness evaluations of Contractor actions and OIG Recommendations pertaining to software issues.


Review and provide feedback on new and updated QAD procedures and oversight reports to ensure high technical quality standards are met.

Analyze causal assessments and actions taken to prevent recurrence of software conditions that adversely affect quality.

Utilize exceptional writing and communication skills in all professional interactions.

Maintain consistent and punctual attendance.

Execute additional duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY ROLE
No supervisory responsibilities.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Technology, or Business Management.


A minimum of nine (9) years of relevant experience as a management consultant or senior manager, collaborating with organizational executives and senior management on significant management, technical, or business challenges.


Extensive experience in Safety Quality Assurance (SQA) requirements as defined by Government Agencies Regulations and Orders, ensuring that safety and non-safety software engineering processes adhere to established quality standards.

Proficient in implementing Safety and non-Safety Software QA Programs.

Demonstrated familiarity or relevant experience with Hanford or other government agency procedures.

At least ten (10) years of experience in software quality assurance program implementation and oversight.

Proven experience with software quality assurance orders, guidance, consensus standards, and common industry practices.

Must obtain and maintain necessary security access and/or background checks (U.S. citizenship required).

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Knowledge of Hanford Site mission, activities, and priorities at a working level.

Understanding of DOE Hanford processes and procedures at a working level.

Familiarity with DOE's program management practices, policies, and procedures at a working level.

Knowledge of Hanford's Quality Assurance programs at a working level.

American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certified Software Quality Engineer (CSQE) or equivalent certification.

Ability to learn and utilize other technology management tools employed at Hanford.

Strong communication responsiveness and customer service skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft 365, particularly in Word and Excel.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

WORK SCHEDULE
Full-time position. Additional hours may be required to complete assignments or projects.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Expected travel time is less than 25%.

DRIVING REQUIREMENTS


Must possess or be able to obtain a valid state driver's license and be insurable under the company's automobile insurance policy. Driving may be required for training and occasional local travel, with expected driving time being less than 25%.


WORK ENVIRONMENT


Work is primarily conducted in a professional office environment, utilizing standard office equipment (e.g., computer, fax machines, copier) and interacting with a diverse range of individuals across various functions and abilities.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS


This position involves prolonged periods of sitting, using hands/fingers, handling, reaching, talking, and hearing; occasional walking, standing, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and lifting boxes weighing up to 30 pounds. Moderate to extended periods of office work with significant computer usage are expected.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

$120,000-$150,000 annually
