Guest Service Associate

Job Overview: As a Cashier at Chicago Waffles, you play a crucial role in guest engagement, ensuring a memorable dining experience. Core Responsibilities:
- Customer Engagement:
- Warmly greet and welcome guests.
- Provide precise information regarding menu selections, specials, and promotions.
- Address guest inquiries with patience and professionalism.
- Ensure timely and courteous service for all guests.
- Seating Management:
- Professionally welcome guests and manage seating arrangements.
- Optimize table turnover while maintaining an organized flow.
- Reservations and Guest Coordination:
- Handle reservations, particularly for larger groups.
- Maintain an accurate waiting list for walk-in guests and coordinate with the service team.
- Assist guests with inquiries about wait times and special requests.
- Transaction Processing:
- Efficiently process transactions with accuracy.
- Maintain a balanced cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Issue receipts and provide correct change.
- Order Processing:
- Input orders into the POS system with precision.
- Manage phone orders and relay details to the kitchen and service staff.
- Anticipate guest needs to ensure satisfaction.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work in harmony with restaurant, bar, and kitchen personnel to ensure seamless service.
- Assist in various roles during peak service times.
- Embody the mission, vision, values, and service culture of Chicago Waffles.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Essential:
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to maintain professionalism in high-pressure situations.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
- Familiarity with POS systems and telephone etiquette.
- A friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Desirable:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of two years of experience in customer service, ideally within the hospitality sector.
- Food Handler Certification.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform various physical movements throughout the work area.
- Stand and/or walk continuously during shifts.
- Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
Job Functions:
- Comprehensive knowledge of and adherence to all policies and service procedures.
- Thorough understanding of all menus and restaurant offerings.
- Execute all opening and closing duties as assigned.
- Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of designated areas.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Support fellow restaurant staff as needed.
- Participate in training sessions, meetings, and menu tastings.
