POSITION SUMMARY: The individual in this role is tasked with overseeing the dining area of the restaurant and effectively communicating with servers, bussers, and kitchen staff to ensure exceptional service for our guests. This position involves greeting customers and fulfilling their needs through various responsibilities.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Exhibit a sense of urgency in all tasks.
  • Welcome guests promptly upon their arrival.
  • Escort guests to their tables and present menus.
  • Prepare tables with necessary utensils, water, and coffee.
  • Be available to address customer inquiries.
  • Manage the waiting list and assist in arranging tables for larger groups.
  • Monitor guests during their meals to cater to additional requests.
  • Understand menu abbreviations and process TOGO orders accurately.
  • Take phone orders and utilize suggestive selling techniques.
  • Input TOGO orders into the system.
  • Package TOGO orders with appropriate condiments and utensils.
  • Maintain cleanliness behind the scenes, including windows and high chairs.
  • Support fellow Host/Cashiers as needed.
  • Handle cash register operations, ensuring accurate transactions.
  • Organize and validate Guest Checks as per established procedures.
  • Adhere to money drop protocols with management.
  • Keep the work area tidy and well-organized.
  • Assist with special tasks, such as inflating balloons when applicable.
  • Regularly check restrooms for cleanliness and necessary supplies.
  • Accept guidance from management readily.
  • Follow all safety protocols to prevent accidents or health issues.
  • Perform cleaning and additional tasks as assigned.
  • Collaborate effectively with management and restaurant staff.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

A minimum of two years of high school education; or up to one year of relevant experience or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:

Must possess the ability to read, write, and speak English fluently. Capable of effectively communicating with customers and colleagues in both individual and small group settings.


MATH SKILLS:

Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages. A calculator may be utilized. Must be able to provide correct change.


REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense in executing instructions from managers, customers, or coworkers. Capable of addressing repetitive issues with varying solutions, such as special seating requests or customer complaints.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to:

  • Move quickly and efficiently.
  • Stand for extended periods.
  • Walk frequently.
  • Use hands for handling objects (e.g., glasses, plates).
  • Engage in handwriting and operating a cash register.
  • Communicate verbally and listen attentively.

The employee is frequently required to:

  • Utilize taste or smell.
  • Occasionally lift or move items weighing up to 15 pounds.
