Position Summary:
The Supervisor of Local Tactical Planning plays a pivotal role in overseeing daily local media planning and strategic functions. This position is responsible for maintaining precise budget management and ensuring the smooth flow of media activities. The Supervisor will collaborate with a team to develop, implement, and manage local media strategies for designated business segments. This role requires a proactive approach to leverage expertise and insights to address the needs of clients, agencies, and team members, with guidance from senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the creation and execution of local tactical media strategies for assigned business units.
  • Assess the capabilities of various media channels to effectively reach target demographics.
  • Analyze media performance to evaluate the success of initial objectives and strategies.
  • Research and interpret marketing data to formulate media objectives and tactical plans.
  • Communicate effectively with senior management and clients, presenting insights and strategies.
  • Oversee the execution of media plans, including ideation, budgeting, scheduling, and performance benchmarks.
  • Ensure accurate budget management and provide timely updates to clients.
  • Authorize media plans prepared by the team in accordance with project requests.
  • Maintain accountability for media accuracy and intelligence.
  • Guide and motivate junior team members in their daily tasks.
  • Facilitate coordination and communication across various internal teams and external partners.
  • Manage administrative functions related to client setup and billing processes.
  • Serve as a resource for resolving complex inquiries and challenges.
  • Advocate for diversity and inclusion in all tactical planning efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in media planning and strategy, with a focus on local markets.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite, Nielsen Suite, Kantar, IMS, and various media optimization tools.
  • Strong understanding of cross-channel media dynamics and a passion for client success.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to maintain client relationships and internal documentation.
  • Ability to work independently while relying on experience and judgment.
  • Familiarity with activation and negotiation team functions.
  • Comprehensive understanding of media channel capabilities to maximize campaign effectiveness.
  • Experience in managing projects, resources, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to train and supervise team members effectively.
