Position Summary

The Director of Local Tactical Planning is responsible for guiding the development and implementation of local media tactical strategies for designated clients. This role requires leveraging extensive experience and expertise to inspire innovative solutions that meet the needs of clients, agencies, and team members while overseeing the team's deliverables.

Reporting Structure

This position reports directly to the Senior Vice President of Local Investment.

Work Environment

This is a hybrid position, necessitating three days of in-office presence each week. Specific details regarding accommodations will be discussed during the interview process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and nurture robust client relationships as a vital local strategic partner.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of clients' business goals, challenges, and opportunities, including awareness of emerging competitive threats.
  • Analyze clients' customer behaviors and preferences throughout the entire customer journey.
  • Direct the tactical approach in alignment with clients' omnichannel marketing strategies.
  • Oversee the creation and management of local media tactical plans and budgets.
  • Present strategic recommendations to account services and clients.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of budgetary constraints and media flow for assigned clients.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal teams (Investment, Finance), clients, and external partners.
  • Develop insights on critical business issues and trends affecting local markets.
  • Lead brainstorming sessions and client workshops.
  • Participate in new business development initiatives.
  • Support the Associate Director in mentoring junior team members.
  • Provide performance feedback to team members and recommend staffing solutions to management.
  • Serve as a resource for resolving complex challenges.
  • May undertake additional responsibilities as deemed necessary by management.
  • Promote multiculturalism and diversity within tactical planning efforts.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 9 years of experience in media planning, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in both offline and online media.
  • Strong expertise in local media strategies.
  • Proven ability in local strategic and tactical planning.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the capacity to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting to clients and maintaining internal documentation.
  • Strong management and motivational abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite, Nielsen, Kantar Software, IMS, Flowchart Software, R/F and Optimization Software, Social Tracking tools, MediaOcean, and Google Analytics.

Compensation Range: $115,500 - $181,500 annually, subject to adjustment based on qualifications and experience.
