Position Summary:
The Supervisor of Local Tactical Planning is responsible for overseeing daily local media planning and strategic functions. This role includes managing precise budget control and the flow of media activities. The Supervisor will collaborate with a team to develop, execute, and maintain local media plans for designated business accounts. This position also requires leveraging expertise to foster innovative solutions that meet the needs of clients, agencies, and team members, with guidance from senior staff.

Reporting Structure:
You will report directly to the Senior Vice President of Local Investment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the formulation and execution of local tactical planning for assigned business accounts.
  • Assess the capabilities and composition of various media vehicles to effectively reach target audiences.
  • Analyze media performance to evaluate the success of original media objectives and strategies.
  • Research and interpret marketing and research data to establish media objectives and local tactical plans.
  • Communicate effectively with top management and clients, presenting insights and strategies.
  • Oversee the implementation of media plans, including ideation, budgeting, scheduling, and performance benchmarks.
  • Maintain accurate budget oversight and ensure timely updates to clients regarding media activities.
  • Authorize media requests prepared by the team in accordance with approved plans.
  • Ensure accuracy and uphold media intelligence standards.
  • Supervise and inspire direct reports, fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Facilitate coordination and communication across inter-agency partnerships and internal teams.
  • Manage client setup processes, billing, and all administrative functions.
  • Serve as a resource for resolving complex inquiries and challenges.
  • May undertake additional duties as assigned by management.
  • Promote multicultural and diversity inclusion within tactical plans.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in media planning and strategy, with a focus on local markets.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite, Nielsen Suite, Kantar, IMS, Flowchart Software, R/F and Optimization Software, Social Tracking tools, Prisma, MediaOcean, MRI/GfK, GWI.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of cross-channel media, with a strong curiosity and passion for client business.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present to clients and maintain internal documentation.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, relying on experience and judgment.
  • Understanding of Activation and Negotiation team functions.
  • Familiarity with the capabilities of various media channels to maximize campaign impact.
  • Experience in managing projects, resources, stakeholders, and team members.
  • Ability to orient, train, assign, and review the work of subordinates.
