Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Family Services Supervisor to join our team at the City of Chesapeake. As a key member of our Human Services department, you will be responsible for supervising a team of Family Services Specialists and Human Services Assistants, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to our citizens.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and lead a team of Family Services Specialists and Human Services Assistants
  • Monitor caseloads and ensure timely completion of tasks
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve program effectiveness
  • Collaborate with other agencies and organizations to provide services to clients
  • Oversee budgeting and fiscal management for assigned area
  • Participate in community planning and development of new resources
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a human services field or related degree
  • Minimum of four years of experience in a human services area, including two years of supervisory experience
  • Valid driver's license and driving record in compliance with City of Chesapeake policies
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Supervisory experience in a human services setting
  • Experience in Child Protective Services or Child Welfare Program management
  • Knowledge of OASIS system application
  • Case review experience
