SUPERVISOR: Program Supervisor

JOB SUMMARY:

Under the guidance of the Program Supervisor, the Senior Juvenile Support Counselor is tasked with delivering exceptional care and oversight for clients within the juvenile support program. This role involves implementing individualized treatment plans for each client while adhering to the organization's mission, vision, values, and strategic objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensure compliance with the organization's Code of Conduct and all relevant policies and procedures. Maintain confidentiality and security of all client and staff-related information. Guide clients through the daily activities of the support program. Provide both individual and group supervision to clients, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times. Participate in the maintenance and cleanliness of the support facility. Prepare meals in accordance with established menu plans. Uphold the rules and structure of the support program. Establish behavioral boundaries for clients within the program. Implement approved crisis intervention and prevention strategies in line with organizational policies. Collaborate with the program supervisor and case manager to facilitate life skills and psycho-educational groups for youth. Transport clients to and from program-related activities. Assist recreation staff in developing a weekly activity calendar and support youth during these activities. Maintain accurate daily logs and records for each client. Document daily progress notes in the designated database system. Complete weekly summaries for each youth and submit them to the appropriate authorities. Serve as the primary counselor for designated youth as assigned by the supervisor.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Adhere to established policies and procedures while suggesting improvements as necessary. Demonstrate punctuality and commitment to attendance at meetings, training sessions, and other assigned duties. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Promote and practice cultural competency towards clients, families, and staff through training and engagement in cultural activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or GED required; an Associate's degree in a human services field is preferred. At least one year of experience in child care is preferred.

SPECIAL SKILLS:

Availability to work evenings. Possession of a valid driver's license in good standing. Comfort with community-based work involving high-risk youth.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The role requires regular physical activities, including standing, walking, sitting, bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, and climbing stairs.

Ability to drive. Ability to walk short distances. Ability to navigate stairs. Ability to respond quickly in emergencies.
