Key Responsibilities
  • Provide crisis intervention and support to individuals in need, utilizing active listening skills and empathetic approach.
  • Conduct in-depth screenings to identify community programs and resources that can assist clients with their needs.
  • Answer crisis contacts via phone, assessing for suicide risk and providing referrals to appropriate community resources.
  • Conduct follow-up calls to ensure client safety and well-being.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to established policies and procedures.
  • Utilize software to accurately document client interactions and identify gaps in services.
  • Work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends, and be flexible to backfill shifts as needed.
  • Attend and complete required training and in-service meetings.
Requirements
  • Associates degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • One year of experience in customer service and/or call center industry.
  • Prior mental health, case management, and/or social work background preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to established policies and procedures.
Working Environment

Goodwill of the Finger Lakes is a 24/7 operation, open 365 days a year. The work environment is hybrid, with the possibility of remote work dependent on performance and reliability. The noise level in the office is usually moderate.
