Job Summary
The Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) is seeking an experienced Administrative Support Specialist to provide high-level administrative support to the School-level Superintendent. This role will involve coordinating and organizing office activities, managing communications and information flow, and providing administrative support to the Superintendent's Office.
Description of Duties
- Perform needs assessments and provide recommendations for process improvements.
- Coordinate and organize office activities, including scheduling appointments and meetings, and preparing and maintaining records and reports.
- Manage and maintain confidentiality of sensitive and personal information.
- Provide administrative support to the Superintendent's Office, including preparing correspondence, reports, and other documents.
- Assist with planning and coordinating school events and field trips.
- Monitor and maintain office supplies and equipment.
- Perform a wide range of administrative tasks, including typing, word processing, filing, and data entry.
- Provide training and work direction to assigned office personnel.
- Assist with registration duties and provide support to students, parents, and staff.
- Communicate with personnel and outside agencies to exchange information and resolve issues.
- Secure substitutes and orient new personnel.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to applicants who possess one or more of the following:
- Two years of experience in general office or administrative experience.
- Associate degree in a related field and one year of experience in a similar setting.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Experience with Excel and Microsoft applications.
- Experience with Concur, State of Georgia TeamWorks, Employee Self Service, Infinite Campus, and Canvas.
- ASL proficiency at 3+ or above as measured by the American Sign Language Proficiency Interview (ASLPI).
