We are currently seeking an Automation Engineering Specialist to contribute to our mission. This role involves researching and developing cutting-edge technologies that meet customer demands for safety, remote operation, and autonomy. You will be responsible for creating and managing comprehensive design specifications, including system architecture, hardware, and software components, as well as conducting Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and validation strategies.

As part of your responsibilities, you will tackle complex analytical challenges and troubleshoot systems that integrate both hardware and software elements, including on-site testing at designated facilities. Collaboration with project leads, hardware engineers, and software engineers will be essential to ensure that all customer requirements are fulfilled. You will engage in research and development initiatives throughout the entire project lifecycle, from initial launch to full-scale production.

Staying abreast of technological advancements is crucial, as you will be expected to enhance your technical expertise while transforming innovative concepts into practical applications.

You will work alongside diverse, multidisciplinary teams and effectively communicate your ideas and findings.
Occasional domestic or international travel may be required to support technology development at customer sites.

Requirements:


This position mandates a bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline, along with five (5) years of experience in roles such as Project Engineer or Automation Designer.

Alternatively, a master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in the same fields, accompanied by three (3) years of relevant experience, will be accepted.
Additionally, candidates must possess experience in:
(1) Development and/or testing of perception technologies (such as Ethernet/LVDS cameras, Radar, and/or Lidar) for heavy machinery; (2) Datalink protocols (including CAN, J1939, and Ethernet) as applied to heavy machinery; (3) Compliance with ISO regulations and testing standards for camera and detection systems; (4) Understanding of functional safety standards and system requirements (both hardware and software); and (5) Proficiency with the Linux operating system.
