Position Overview:
As a key member of the CPNA Maintenance and Engineering division, the Automation Systems Technician is responsible for overseeing the design and implementation of new or replacement automation systems that are low to moderately complex, specifically tailored for downstream operations. This role adheres to reliability standards and engineering guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:
Maintain up-to-date engineering drawings and technical documentation for identified equipment. This position is dedicated to the ASC plant locations and involves coordinating activities with the ASC maintenance team.

The technician will also provide technical support to the maintenance team in their daily operations concerning equipment and systems within the ASC plant sites.

Additionally, the Automation Systems Technician may be called upon to assist with various maintenance tasks across CPNA during equipment failures, line shutdowns, or annual maintenance periods as needed.

Primary Duties:
- Lead projects related to the procurement, installation, commissioning, and training of new equipment.
- Conduct feasibility studies for the introduction of new robotic or automation technologies.
- Collaborate with Plant Managers and the ASC Maintenance Team on maintenance tasks and project enhancements.
- Support maintenance, reliability, and performance initiatives to ensure that equipment and systems meet operational targets.
- Provide training for operations and maintenance personnel on new systems and their operational procedures.
- Investigate and research emerging technologies aimed at reducing costs, enhancing efficiency, and ensuring business sustainability.
- Ensure that all systems comply with security protocols consistent with BlueScope standards.
- Contribute to CPNA's digital and customer experience initiatives by delivering integrated technology solutions.

The Automation Systems Technician may also be required to assist with additional maintenance tasks across CPNA during breakdowns, line shutdowns, or annual maintenance periods as necessary.
