Position Overview:

SSi People is seeking a skilled Civil Engineer to enhance our Facilities Engineering and Technology team. This role is pivotal in maintaining the infrastructure that supports our manufacturing and aviation production processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and finalize intricate designs, prepare cost estimates, and provide maintenance support for civil and structural aspects of facilities.
  • Collaborate with various engineering disciplines, external consultants, and regulatory bodies to ensure project alignment.
  • Ensure civil and structural designs meet customer specifications, building codes, and industry regulations through a solid understanding of construction methodologies.
  • Review contractor submissions to maintain the integrity of drawing archives and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Contribute to construction oversight by evaluating vendor selections, reviewing proposals, and monitoring project timelines and contractor performance.
  • Prepare and present project documentation to ensure adherence to construction requirements and project goals.
  • Generate detailed design documents and manage project documentation in accordance with established parameters.
  • Translate customer needs into viable design options and identify necessary materials and services using engineering principles.
  • Update design standards and operational procedures to foster consistency across projects.
  • Participate in infrastructure planning and project management with minimal supervision.
  • Analyze current conditions and future needs, gathering data to assess alternatives and impacts.
  • Collect and integrate customer requirements into initial design concepts.
  • Engage in code research and assist in developing project schedules to define scope.
  • Maintain and communicate project management information, aiding in the documentation of contract scopes.
  • Interpret and analyze relevant regulations, standards, and codes to ensure project compliance.
  • Propose alternatives to guarantee compliance and provide necessary support for securing permits.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in civil engineering, construction, facilities management, or project management.
  • 3+ years of experience interpreting engineering drawings and construction specifications.
  • 3+ years of proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design software.
