Position Overview: The Global Real Estate and Facilities division is seeking a seasoned Civil Engineer to join our Facilities Engineering and Technology team.

As a Facilities Civil Engineer, your role will be pivotal in supporting the essential facilities that underpin our manufacturing and aircraft production processes.

You will work closely with various engineering disciplines, maintenance teams, and operational groups to assess environmental impacts, underground utility systems, roadways, and aircraft flight lines.

Your expertise will play a vital role in long-term maintenance planning, ensuring optimal performance of both the facilities and the aircraft programs we support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop moderately complex designs, final designs, and cost estimates while providing maintenance support for civil and structural aspects of buildings, equipment installations, utility systems, and grounds.
  • Assist in integrating activities across multiple engineering disciplines, external consultants, and regulatory agencies.
  • Align civil and structural designs with customer specifications, building codes, and relevant regulations by applying knowledge of construction principles and materials.
  • Ensure the accuracy of drawing archives by reviewing contractor modifications and identifying discrepancies to comply with regulatory standards and facility requirements.
  • Support construction processes by providing insights on vendor selection, reviewing contractor proposals, and monitoring project progress and performance.
  • Prepare and present project information to ensure adherence to construction documents and jurisdictional requirements.
  • Produce and/or procure detailed design documents, utilizing appropriate resources to align with project parameters.
  • Coordinate customer requirements into design options, identifying suitable materials, equipment, and services through engineering principles.
  • Update design standards and site-specific operating procedures to establish common practices.
  • Participate in infrastructure planning and decision-making processes with limited supervision.
  • Support the analysis of current conditions and future needs, gathering data to identify and evaluate alternatives and impacts.
  • Engage in code research and develop initial project schedules to define project scope.
  • Create, maintain, and communicate project management information, assisting in contract scope documentation.
  • Interpret and analyze applicable regulations, standards, codes, and ordinances concerning project requirements.
  • Offer project alternatives to ensure compliance and provide necessary support to secure permits.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in civil engineering, construction, facilities management, maintenance, or project management.
  • 3+ years of experience in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and construction specifications.
  • 3+ years of experience using AutoCAD or similar software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience applying engineering principles to provide technical solutions while adhering to local and federal regulations.
  • Proven ability to lead and collaborate in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for frequent interaction with project managers, construction managers, maintenance staff, and contractors.

Typical Education/Experience: Education and experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited engineering program and usually 5 or more years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Compensation: The expected pay range for this position is $46/hour - $55/hour. Optional benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, and 401K.
