Position Overview

The Director of Financial Reporting is a critical role within the SGWS IT Leadership career path, responsible for leading, managing, mentoring, and developing technology teams across various ETP sectors, including the Office of the CIO, business solutions, enterprise architecture, and infrastructure.

Core Responsibilities


• Lead and direct technical teams to ensure effective delivery of IT services.

• Provide strategic vision and leadership for the team, balancing immediate tactical actions with long-term strategic goals.

• Oversee technological planning to align with business objectives, prioritizing initiatives that enhance enterprise architecture while managing current and future technology deployments.

• Offer growth opportunities and coaching to team members to drive results.

• Develop justifications and cost/benefit analyses for technology investments and initiatives.

• Collaborate with relevant departments and external vendors to maintain a technology plan that meets organizational requirements.

• Direct the development and execution of disaster recovery and business continuity plans.

• Analyze complex business needs and propose technical solutions to the Executive Team.

• Ensure adequate IT resources and support for remote users and subsidiaries.

• Provide technical support for building and equipment maintenance services essential for operations.

• Define and communicate corporate procedures, policies, and standards for hardware and software acquisition, implementation, and operation.

• Collaborate in a fast-paced environment to design and deliver high-quality solutions adhering to industry standards for architecture, security, and privacy.

• Conduct research to stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies, anticipating new business processes and system changes.

• Manage and prioritize the workload of team members, assisting with prioritization as necessary.

• Ensure continuous delivery of technical services through oversight of service level agreements and monitoring system performance.

• Conduct analysis, design, and implementation of computer-based information systems to fulfill user requirements.

• Participate in performance evaluations and make recommendations for hiring and staffing needs.

Qualifications


• Bachelor's degree in relevant fields such as Business, Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or Mathematics.

• Over 10 years of experience in technology management, customer relationship management, and staff management.

• Previous supervisory experience is essential.

• Strong presentation and facilitation skills.

• Proficiency in working with diverse technologies and a strong aptitude for adopting new technological solutions to business challenges.

• Proven track record in planning, organizing, implementing, and developing applications or infrastructure.

• Experience in managing support for application, systems, or infrastructure environments effectively.

• Ability to provide strong leadership and timely performance feedback.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of articulating ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Excellent organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.

• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.

• Focus on business results and client service as measures of personal success.

• Strategic thinker with the ability to adjust plans based on changing circumstances.

• Capacity to lead in a team environment that embraces Agile delivery values.

Physical Requirements


• Prolonged periods of sitting and typing on a computer (keyboard, mouse, monitor) are expected.

• Occasional physical activities may include walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping.

• May require occasional lifting, lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 20 lbs.
