Position Overview

The Director of Financial Reporting position is integral to the SGWS IT Leadership career path, responsible for leading, managing, mentoring, and developing technology teams across various ETP divisions, including the Office of the CIO, business solutions, enterprise architecture, and infrastructure.

Core Responsibilities


• Provide leadership and direction to technical teams to ensure effective IT service delivery.

• Establish a vision and strategic direction for the team, balancing short-term actions with long-term goals.

• Lead technological planning to align with business objectives by prioritizing initiatives that enhance enterprise architecture and managing the evaluation and deployment of current and future technologies.

• Offer coaching and development opportunities to team members to drive results.

• Create business case justifications and conduct cost/benefit analyses for technology investments.

• Collaborate with relevant departments and external vendors to develop and maintain a technology strategy that meets organizational needs.

• Oversee the development and execution of disaster recovery and business continuity plans.

• Analyze complex business requirements and recommend technical solutions to the Executive Team.

• Ensure adequate IT resources and support for remote users and subsidiaries.

• Provide technical support for building and equipment maintenance services necessary for operations.

• Define and communicate corporate policies and standards for acquiring, implementing, and operating hardware and software.

• Collaborate in a fast-paced environment to ensure the design and delivery of high-quality solutions that adhere to industry standards for architecture, security, and best practices.

• Conduct research to stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies to anticipate new business processes and system changes.

• Direct and prioritize the workload of team members and assist with workload management as needed.

• Ensure continuous delivery of technical services through oversight of service level agreements and monitoring of systems and performance.

• Conduct analysis, design, and implementation of computer-based information systems to meet user needs.

• Participate in performance evaluations and make recommendations for hiring and personnel changes.

Essential Qualifications


• Bachelor's degree in relevant fields (Business, Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related disciplines).

• Over 10 years of experience in technology management, customer relationship management, and staff leadership.

• Previous supervisory experience is required.

• Strong presentation and facilitation skills.

• Proficient in working with various technologies, with a keen aptitude for new solutions and applying them to business challenges.

• Proven track record in planning, organizing, implementing, and developing applications or infrastructure.

• Experience in managing support for application, systems, or infrastructure environments.

• Ability to provide effective leadership and timely performance feedback.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of articulating ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.

• Success measured by impact on business results and client service.

• Strategic thinker with the ability to adapt plans based on changing circumstances.
