Position Overview

The Director of Financial Reporting position is integral to the SGWS IT Leadership career pathway, responsible for leading, managing, mentoring, and developing technology teams across various ETP divisions, including the Office of the CIO, business solutions, enterprise architecture, and infrastructure teams.

Key Responsibilities


• Provide strategic leadership and direction for technical teams to ensure effective delivery of IT services.

• Establish a clear vision and leadership approach for the team, encompassing both immediate tactical actions and long-term strategic planning.

• Drive technological planning aligned with business objectives by prioritizing initiatives that enhance enterprise architecture and overseeing the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future technologies.

• Offer growth opportunities and coaching to develop team capabilities and achieve results.

• Create business case justifications and conduct cost/benefit analyses for technology investments and initiatives.

• Collaborate with relevant departments and external vendors to develop and sustain a technology plan that meets organizational requirements.

• Oversee the development and execution of disaster recovery and business continuity plans.

• Analyze complex business needs and propose technical solutions to the Executive Team.

• Ensure adequate IT resources and support for remote users and subsidiaries.

• Provide technical support for building and equipment maintenance services necessary for business operations.

• Define and communicate corporate procedures, policies, and standards for acquiring, implementing, and operating hardware and software.

• Collaborate effectively within a fast-paced environment to ensure the design and delivery of high-quality solutions that adhere to industry standards for architecture, security, privacy, and best practices.

• Conduct research to stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies in anticipation of new business processes and system changes.

• Direct and prioritize the workload of subordinate personnel and assist with workload management as needed.

• Ensure continuous delivery of technical services through oversight of service level agreements with end users and monitoring of systems, programs, and equipment performance.

• Conduct and coordinate analysis, design, and implementation of computer-based information systems to meet user requirements.

• Perform performance evaluations and make recommendations for new hires, consultants, and/or replacement personnel.

Minimum Qualifications


• Bachelor's degree in relevant fields (Business, Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related disciplines).

• Over 10 years of experience in technology management, customer relationship management, and staff management.

• Previous supervisory experience is essential.

• Strong presentation and facilitation skills.

• Proficient in working with multiple technologies, with an aptitude for new technologies and the ability to effectively apply technological solutions to business challenges.

• Proven experience in planning, organizing, implementing, and developing applications or infrastructure.

• Experience in managing the support of application, systems, or infrastructure environments successfully.

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to provide timely and effective performance feedback.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of articulating ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Excellent organizational skills with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

• Measure personal success through impact on business results and client service.

• Capable of taking a broader perspective on immediate issues to focus on long-term strategies.

• Develop a strategic plan to realize the organizational vision and adjust strategies as circumstances change.
