Position OverviewThe Director of Financial Reporting is a crucial role within the SGWS IT Leadership career pathway, responsible for leading, managing, mentoring, and developing technology teams across various ETP divisions, including the Office of the CIO, business solutions, enterprise architecture, and infrastructure.
Core Responsibilities
• Provide strategic leadership and direction for technical teams to ensure effective IT service delivery.
• Establish a clear vision and leadership approach for the team, balancing immediate tactical actions with long-term strategic goals.
• Drive technological planning to align with business objectives by prioritizing initiatives that enhance enterprise architecture and overseeing the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future technologies.
• Offer growth opportunities and coaching to team members to achieve desired outcomes.
• Develop business case justifications and conduct cost/benefit analyses for technology investments and initiatives.
• Collaborate with relevant departments and external vendors to create and maintain a technology roadmap that meets organizational requirements.
• Oversee the development and implementation of disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
• Analyze complex business requirements and propose technical solutions to the Executive Team.
• Ensure adequate IT resources and support for remote users and subsidiaries.
• Provide technical assistance in managing building and equipment maintenance services, along with other essential operational services.
• Define and communicate corporate policies, procedures, and standards for the acquisition, implementation, and operation of hardware and software.
• Collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment to ensure the design and delivery of high-quality solutions that adhere to industry standards for architecture, security, and best practices.
• Conduct research to stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies, anticipating new business processes and system changes.
• Direct and prioritize the workload of team members, assisting with workload management as necessary.
• Ensure the continuous delivery of technical services by overseeing service level agreements with end users and monitoring system performance.
• Conduct analysis, design, and implementation of computer-based information systems to fulfill user requirements.
• Participate in performance evaluations and make recommendations for hiring, consulting, or replacement personnel.
• Bachelor's degree in relevant fields (Business, Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent).
• Over 10 years of experience in technology management, customer relationship management, and staff oversight.
• Previous supervisory experience is essential.
• Strong presentation and facilitation skills.
• Proficient in working with various technologies, with a strong aptitude for new technologies and the ability to apply technological solutions to business challenges.
• Proven experience in planning, organizing, implementing, and developing applications or infrastructure.
• Demonstrated success in managing support for application, systems, or infrastructure environments.
• Strong leadership capabilities with timely and effective performance feedback.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Excellent organizational skills with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Capable of maintaining confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
• Measures personal success by the impact on business outcomes and client service.
• Ability to adopt a long-term perspective on organizational success and adjust strategies as circumstances evolve.
