Job Overview

Position Title: Principal Specialist in IT Business Processes

Work Type: Hybrid

Position Summary:

  • Delivers internal program and project management expertise focused on enhancing processes and managing standards.
  • Acts as the primary liaison between enterprise program management and IT departments.
  • Plans, executes, and implements initiatives related to program management standards.
  • Organizes and leads cross-functional project teams, ensuring effective collaboration.
  • Develops metrics to assess standard adoption and identifies opportunities for future enhancements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements project management standards in collaboration with the enterprise program management team.
  • Evaluates the relevance of enterprise project management practices within the IT sector.
  • Creates and executes change management strategies.
  • Establishes a community of practice for program and project management excellence.
  • Builds and maintains productive relationships with stakeholders, teams, and leadership, providing recommendations for process improvements.
  • Leads complex assignments that impact multiple initiatives, requiring expert judgment and adaptability.
  • Addresses intricate technology needs by analyzing processes and proposing effective solutions.
  • Formulates and suggests plans for processes and standards, adapting existing frameworks as necessary.
  • Communicates and enforces policies and procedures related to processes and standards, assisting in the maturation of business practices.
  • Coordinates complex process and standards solutions for internal stakeholders.
  • Continuously reviews and updates standards to align with evolving business conditions, enhancing overall performance.
  • Identifies and documents processes for improvement, analyzing gaps and designing new workflows.
  • This is a principal-level role, serving as a senior authority in functional areas for large-scale programs.
  • Contributes to the development of broad strategies and enterprise-wide initiatives.
  • Engages in special projects related to audits, compliance, and remediation of processes and standards.
  • Mentors other specialists and leads process and standards management on matrix project teams.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 8 years of experience in IT business processes.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from PMI.
  • SAFe Agilist certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ITIL Foundation certification.
  • Experience with Project Portfolio Management tools such as Planisware.
