Madison Dearborn Partners ("MDP") acquired Great Gray from Wilmington Trust, marking a new chapter as an independent entity owned by funds affiliated with MDP. Role Summary

We are in search of a visionary technical leader for the Head of Cloud Operations role at Great Gray Trust. This position requires an individual who embodies innovative thinking, servant leadership, and a strong customer focus. The ideal candidate will be responsible for guiding initiatives that significantly impact the organization, transforming strategic goals into tangible business outcomes, prioritizing based on return on investment, and ensuring timely execution of commitments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction and thought leadership in infrastructure, platform, DevOps, and Azure services.
  • Develop and implement data strategies, including the establishment of data warehouses.
  • Collaborate with leaders, Product Managers, IT architects, technical leads, engineers, and internal stakeholders to create technical roadmaps and develop products that meet business needs.
  • Work closely with technical leads to ensure designs align with long-term enterprise growth objectives.
  • Mentor team members, facilitating their professional development and establishing personal development plans.
  • Recruit, hire, and nurture technology talent.
  • Manage relationships with external software and hardware vendors and partners.
  • Collaborate with Architects to explore new technologies that enhance processes, security, and performance.
  • Support the development of infrastructure-as-code while adhering to best practices and security protocols.
  • Implement formal processes to support the product development lifecycle.
  • Oversee the development and execution of business intelligence strategies to promote data-driven decision-making.
  • Ensure effective data management practices, including governance, quality, and integration across the organization.
  • Lead the management and optimization of Azure cloud services, focusing on scalability, security, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Drive cloud adoption strategies and ensure seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Stay informed on the latest Azure developments and best practices to maintain a competitive advantage.
  • Oversee help desk operations to ensure prompt and effective technical support for internal stakeholders.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience in Agile methodologies.
  • 4+ years of experience with public cloud solutions, particularly Azure.
  • Proven experience in bringing products to market.
  • Experience leading software development initiatives in a cross-functional environment.
  • Familiarity with a range of sophisticated concepts and practices in software development methodologies, web services, and configuration management.
  • Strong background in business intelligence, including the development and implementation of BI strategies.
  • Demonstrated expertise in data management, covering governance, quality, and integration.
  • Proven ability to manage relationships with external vendors and partners.
  • Experience in overseeing help desk operations.
