Job Responsibilities
The Family Services Specialist in APS will collaborate closely with senior staff to ensure the safety and well-being of vulnerable adults. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting thorough investigations into reports of abuse, neglect, and fraud.
- Participating in an on-call rotation to respond to urgent situations as needed.
- Providing comprehensive case management and support to clients, addressing complex and sensitive issues.
- Engaging with clients and their families to assess needs and develop tailored service plans.
- Preparing detailed reports and making referrals to appropriate agencies.
- Advocating for clients to access medical and financial assistance, ensuring their rights are upheld.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Familiarity with relevant local, state, and federal regulations governing social services.
- Proficiency in case management practices and documentation.
- Strong interpersonal and interviewing skills.
- Understanding of community resources and their impact on family dynamics.
- Ability to conduct assessments and develop effective service plans.
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related Human Services field is required, or a Bachelor's degree in any discipline accompanied by at least two years of relevant experience in Human Services.
Preferred Qualifications
Significant experience in the relevant program area and completion of necessary training programs or equivalent experience that demonstrates the required competencies.
