Job Summary:
The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly skilled Family Services Specialist III to join our team. As a key member of our Adult Protective Services (APS) team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our senior population.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate referrals for abuse and neglect, and provide complex professional case management to clients.
- Interview clients and assess their situations to determine the need for services.
- Develop and implement service plans to meet client needs, and consult with family members, schools, and other human service organizations.
- Prepare reports and initiate referrals to other divisions or ancillary agencies.
- Refer clients to other agencies as appropriate, and serve as a client advocate for medical assistance, financial assistance, and client rights.
Requirements:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a Human Services field, or a Bachelor's degree in any field with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a Human Services area.
- Considerable experience in assigned program area and completion of required training programs, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Work Environment:
The Commonwealth of Virginia offers a hybrid telework environment.
Pay Grade: 213
Pay Range: $53,409 - $69,431
