Position Overview:

The Clinical Support Specialist is essential in merging the roles of a Medical Assistant and Front Desk Receptionist.

You will collaborate with clinical staff and administrative teams to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of our clinical offices.



Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Support | Medical Assistant
- Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations and procedures.
- Prepare examination rooms, ensuring cleanliness and organization.
- Accurately record patient medical histories and vital signs.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by healthcare professionals.
- Conduct basic laboratory tests and collect specimens for analysis.
- Uphold infection control standards and ensure proper sterilization of equipment.

Administrative Support | Front Desk Receptionist
- Welcome patients and visitors warmly, creating a positive and professional first impression.
- Schedule appointments and assist with additional testing as directed by physicians.
- Manage incoming calls, addressing inquiries and directing calls appropriately.
- Verify insurance coverage and assist patients with billing inquiries.
- Collect payments at check-in.
- Review patient demographics for accuracy and enter information into Practice Management and EHR systems.
- Obtain and scan patients' identification and insurance cards into the system.
- Ensure all necessary referrals are obtained and linked in the EMR.
- Assist patients with registration processes.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of five (5) years of front office and clinical experience, preferably in Urology.
- Proficient knowledge of Medical Terminology, ICD-10, and CPT-4 Codes.

Skills and Competencies:
- Current knowledge of clinical practices, quality assurance, and patient management.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.
- Strong organizational skills and effective prioritization abilities.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Proficient in computer software and database management.
- Attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to learning and improving patient care.
- Comfortable engaging with patients and asking relevant questions.
- Must demonstrate a caring and compassionate demeanor.
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance and regulations.
- Ability to type a minimum of 40 words per minute.

Travel Requirements:
- Willingness to travel to other sites as necessary within the region.

Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to sit and stand for extended periods.
- Involves standing, sitting, walking, bending, and twisting.
- Requires full range of motion, including manual dexterity and coordination.
- May assist in transferring patients.
- Occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 40 lbs.
